There are several opportunities to volunteer with the programs of the Peter Spencer Family Life
Foundation, the Ujima Afterschool Program and the Freedom Schools. Most of our volunteers find they
are blessed more by the children than they give. Both programs make sure the scholars receive
nourishing meals daily, so we need volunteers to help serve meals and share love with the scholars.
The Ujima Afterschool Program can always use volunteer tutor to assist scholars with the completion of
homework. We also can use people to read stories to our younger scholars, listen to our older scholars
read aloud or play games with those that have finished their homework.
Volunteers should have an interest in making a difference in the community and be able to pass a
background check.
